iPOD PLAY LIST:
Ten Songs To Contemplate You Life Too
(yeah, i realize this isn't humor, (unless you think the songs suck of course) but who the fuck cares?)

By Zach Seemayer

10. “Satin in a Coffin”- Modest Mouse- Good News for People Who Love Bad News album- This is one of the finest songs I’ve ever heard. The beat, the lyrics, the rhythm, all of it melds into one tasteful concoction.

9. “Say it Aint So”- Weezer- Blue album- This song gives me chills. I listen to it as I walk and see the weight of the world pass by me.

8. “Mexico”- Cake- Prolonging the Magic album- Memories of every love you’ve had and every woman you’ve wanted will come streaming back. This could be good, or it could be incredibly bad.

7. “Bukowski”- Modest Mouse- Good News for People Who Love Bad News album- A condemnation of Charles Bukowski and God at the same time. It really makes you think.

6. “(Sittin’ By) The Dock of the Bay”- Ottis Redding- Dock of the Bay album- It’s a song about a man looking out over the waters, watching the boats and thinking about his life, what he’s done with it, and what it all means. How much more do you want?

5. “Whatsername”- Green Day- American Idiot album- Another story of lost love. What is that girl, the one who got away, doing now? Is she married? Does she remember you? This song is good for making you think about that kind of depressing stuff.

4. “The World at Large”- Modest Mouse- Good News for People Who Love Bad News album- “Ice age heat wave, can’t complain. If the world’s at large why should I remain?” The song gives me goose bumps everything the first cords play.

3. “Fake Plastic Trees” (acoustic)- Radiohead- Fake Plastic Trees (CD2)- Although the song is about fake people and plastic surgery, it’s the music, not the lyrics, that make it amazingly introspective. Their lyrics are pretty interesting too though.

2. “Where is my Mind”- The Pixies- Surfer Rosa album- This song, made popularized by being the song that plays over the end of “Fight Club”, is one that just makes you feel lonely enough to change your life.

1. “Sheep go to Heaven”- Cake- Prolonging the Magic- “Sheep go to heaven, Goats go to hell.” The message is: Sure, if you’re a follower, if your meek, your life wont be as rewarding as living hard and dying fast. So, take stock of your life, and then rebel.
